The very name Chimera fascinates us and concentrates the essence of a region, carrying it into the future. Well-grounded in tradition but with a drive to experiment and the owner’s technical knowledge as someone with a degree in agriculture, the company formed in 005 from Stefano Turbil’s sole passion is evolving and leaving behind the classic norms and prevailing orthodoxy.
The rows of vines lie in parallel along the Dora Riparia River to soak up the best exposure to the sun. Along with local grapes Avanà and Gamay/Carchejron, and the Piedmont grapes par excellence Barbera and Dolcetto, there are the international grapes: Chardonnay Pinot noir, Traminer and Syrah, which are well suited to the mountains. The new winery has been in operation since the 0 harvest, with its adjacent laboratory, built and outfitted to pursue the best quality in grape processing and the refinement of wines.
